ADP Organizes Adolescent Girls Cricket Tournament in Jamalpur

ICC Cricket World Cup-2011 is going to start just after few days. This is the first time when some of the matches of the world cup will take place in Bangladesh. In this event to create awareness among all regarding HIV/AIDS related issues besides cricket, ICC and Unicef has arranged a “Think Wise Campaign”. Different types of events are taking place in Bangladesh as part of this campaign. In this occasion BRAC Adolescent Development Programme (ADP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Unicef and ICC has jointly organized adolescent cricket tournament in different parts of Bangladesh to create mass awareness about HIV/AIDS related issues by this tournament. 

In this occasion 4 zonal level cricket tournaments were held in Jamalpur, Joypurhat, Chittagong and Khulna. From the 26'th of February 2011 to 29'th of February 2011 zonal level cricket tournament was held in Jamalpur. Kishoreganj, Netrokona, Sherpur, Natore and Feni district adolescent cricket team competes in that tournament and the Sherpur Adolescent Cricket Team stood Champion for the Jamalpur Zone.
